Plenty of homes in the Keys were never built for central air. Older cottages, converted garages, additions, guest houses, sunrooms, workshops — spaces that get hot and stay hot because running new ductwork to them costs more than the room is worth.
A ductless mini split solves that. It's a small indoor unit mounted on the wall, connected to an outdoor compressor by a line set no thicker than a garden hose. No ducts. No soffits. No tearing into walls. If your home already has working ductwork, a conventional central system may still be the better path — we'll tell you which one fits.

One outdoor compressor can support several indoor units, each controlled independently. A single room usually needs one. A whole-home system might use four or five, zoned by how you actually live in the space. We'll walk the property and tell you what it needs — not what fills a quote.
Yes, with a multi-zone setup. Whether it should is a different question. For homes with sound existing ductwork, a central system replacement is often the more economical answer. Ductless makes the most sense for homes without ducts, for additions, and for spaces where one room runs hotter than the rest.
A single-zone install is typically a one-day job. Multi-zone systems usually run one to two days depending on how far the line sets have to travel and how the property is laid out.
